Third Pan-African Forum on Migration

15-17 May 2017, Kampala

 

Gibril Faal spoke on ‘Practice, Not Principles’ at the High Level Panel on Global Compact on Migration’. The panel was chaired by Amb. Laura Thompson, Deputy Director of IOM, and the other panellist were Dr Mohamed Ibn Chambas, Head of UN Office for West Africa, Amb. Bishar Abdirahman Hussein, Director General of Universal Postal Union, Hon. Evelyn Butoyi, Member of Parliament, Burundi, Mr Aeneas Chuma, ILO Regional Director for Africa, and William Muhwava, UNECA, Chief of Population & Youth. The Forum was opened by the Prime Minister of Uganda, Dr Ruhakana Ruganda and the Minister of Internal Affairs, Gen. Jeje Odongo. The conference was organised by IOM and the African Union.
