Capacity Development

Capacity is the ability of people, organisations and society as a whole to manage their affairs successfully. Capacity development is the processes whereby people, organisations and society as a whole unleash, strengthen, create, adapt and maintain capacity over time.

At ADEPT, we do our best to offer impact-oriented capacity development programmes using a peer-to-peer approach, based on the needs of our beneficiaries. We aim to empower African Diaspora Development Organisations (ADDOs), by providing our members and networkers the following services:

Technical Support

Financial Support

Training

Technical Support

We provide technical support to our members according to their needs and fields of activities, by :

  • Providing expertise via our pool of consultants.
  • Creating consortiums (groups of organisations with the same objectives) to jointly answer calls for proposals.
  • Providing the space for working groups to flourish, by hosting discussions and networking opportunities amongst members.

Financial Support

Although ADDOs are active in Africa and Europe, their work is often hindered and limited by an interrelated mix of capacity constraints, such as the lack of funding, a minimal operational capacity or the lack of professionalised processes and services.

Our funding programmes are designed to address these challenges. They help professionalize ADDOs, strengthen their expertise and reinforce their skills in project management, fundraising and organisational management. Skills that will ultimately help them answer calls for proposals.
