The Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration, also commonly referred to as the Global Compact for Migration (GCM) will be adopted in December 2018 in Marrakesh, Morocco. It is considered to be an historic moment and an opportunity to harmoniously address the migration issue and reinforce the contributions of migrants towards sustainable development.

African diaspora has an important role to play in the GCM implementation, as its numerous and diverse contributions help building bridges between communities and contribute to the SDGs achievement.

Being fully involved in the GCM negotiation process, ADEPT is organising its Tenth Diaspora Development Dialogue (DDD10) on the 8th and 9th of December 2018, in the margins of the Global Forum for Migration and Development (GFMD) to coincide with the Intergovernmental conference on the GCM Adoption held in Marrakesh, Morocco.

Building on this moment, the October webinar will shed light on the role of the African diaspora in the GCM implementation and on how the DDD10 can help African diaspora better understand this process.

Mr. Gibril Faal, ADEPT’s Special Advisor will be the main webinar’s speaker.
