ADEPT attended the Hanns Seidel Foundation round table in Brussels, Belgium – June 20, 2018

On June 20, 2018, the ADEPT platform attended the Hanns Seidel Foundation‘s roundtable on the topic:  ‘ Building prosperity and Stability together – Socio-Economic Challenges and Prospects in the European Neighborhood Region Maghreb ‘.

The round-table had guests speakers such as MEP Michael Gahler and other experts representing politics and civil society in the Maghreb region. Together, they discussed how to effectively build prosperity and stability together in the region. Central to the debate were the recent political achievements in the Maghreb states and the role of the EU’s support as well as an assessment of the mutual expectations and challenges in promoting and reaching a common and sustainable neighborhood policy.

At the meeting, ADEPT raised the concern of the valorisation and the association of the diaspora to the Neighborhood policies and strategies, as development actors.
