“Accompanying social and solidarity economy initiatives in the framework of local development projects in Morocco”

Between March 15 and 29, 2022

The MODAL project for “Mobilization of Diaspora Organizations and Local Associations for Development”, implemented by ADEPT, is part of the South-South Cooperation Action (SSCA), funded by the European Union. More specifically, it aims to strengthen the capacities of diaspora organizations and local associations in Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Morocco, and Senegal in order to increase the impact of local development initiatives that they carry out in partnership in these countries.

Improving incomes, economic inclusion of women and youth, and support for people in precarious situations are among the priorities and essential levers for development identified by Morocco (INDH). After the organization of three training sessions respectively in Ivory Coast, Mali and Senegal, ADEPT organizes, this month of March, a training session intended for the organizations of the diaspora and the local associations involved in the local development in Morocco, and more particularly in the accompaniment or the implementation of projects with an economic aim (social and solidarity economy). This training, conceived in the form of workshops, will take place entirely online. It is planned in several sessions at the end of the day, spread out between March 15 and 29. Registration is now open.

Presentation

The training will be divided into several modules covering the following program:

Module 1: Project design and set-up: fundamentals adapted to the accompaniment of projects with an economic scope

Module 2: Concrete implementation in the field: creation and launch of the economic structure

Module 3: Ensuring sustainability: feedback and support tools for entrepreneurship

Module 4: Assets and challenges of partnerships with MREs

The training is designed to be interactive: time for exchange and sharing of experience between participants is planned.

This training is primarily intended for associations under Moroccan law and organizations of the Moroccan diaspora that have ideally already conducted a project or at least identified a local development project with an economic component. However, organizations that have not yet developed activities in this field are also invited to attend.

It will be facilitated by Mr. Jamal Hachem, consultant trainer in entrepreneurship and Mr. Badr Bellhacen, for Adale expertise.

Objectives of the training and program

The main objective of the training is to strengthen the skills of local development project leaders focused on economic development, at the level of entrepreneurs, cooperatives or groups in order to ensure a better design, implementation and sustainability of their initiatives.
