On 25-27 June 2019, ADEPT attended the 2nd Diaspora 6+2 Working Group Workshop convened in Zanzibar, Tanzania by the Directorate of the Citizens and Diaspora Organisations [CIDO] of the African Union. The meeting aimed at developing the terms of reference of the Diaspora Working Group, thus setting up the pace for priorities to guide the period of the mandate of the 6+2. The participants’ insights contributed towards the implementation of the CIDO’s 2019 approved work programme and brought forward opportunities to deliver capacity-building support to member states and diaspora organisations. The meeting was also an occasion to undertake preliminary planning for the 2020 Diaspora Focal Point Workshop.
